Centennial Park Splash Park
Greater Moncton Street Rod Association President, Clarence Breau makes a presentation to Moncton Mayor, Lorne Mitton.
The official opening of Parc SuperSplash Park in Moncton's Centennial Park made a huge splash with scores of children happily dashing about and parents watching from the (dry) sidelines.

Kids from toddlers to teens enjoyed the cascading water and screamed out each time the water-filled bucket, or the flower pot next to it, doused them. Jets of water, some of them knee-high and others streaming from overhead, kept the youngsters amused and happy.

The water and automotive-themed park has three distinct sections; one for toddlers, one for youngsters, and one for older children, all with the computer-controlled water action. The water itself is filtered and reused in the park as a conservation method. It also helps to heat the water slightly.

In 2001, the Atlantic Nationals was born, and the decision was made that a large portion of the proceeds would be directed to the construction of the state of the art Accessible Splash Park. This wonderful facility would not have been possible without the countless volunteer hours extended by the Atlantic Nationals Steering Committee, members and families of the Greater Moncton Street Rods, and the countless volunteers and other local car clubs who assisted in making the Atlantic Nationals a reality.

In addition to the Splash Park, the Atlantic Nationals and the Greater Moncton Street Rods Association continue to generously support other local organizations such as the Friends of Moncton Hospital, the Georges Dumont Hospital, the Codiac Viking Aquatic Club, the Children's Wish Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, and countless others.
